An Autobiography of Shirley Chisolm

Discover the rise of one of the United States' great politicians - the first African-American Congresswoman, and the first woman and first Black person to run for president in a major political party.  Though unsuccessful, her campaign forged the way for the likes of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and put into practice her core philosophy: "If they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair."

Recommended for: Anyone with an interest in politics, history, and pioneers.
