Homo Mysterious

Evolutionary Puzzles of Human Nature

Why does religion exist across every human culture? Why do people enjoy the arts? What is consciousness, anyway? This book examines the questions that are as old as humanity itself, and all the evolutionary eccentricities that make up our species. By comparing the origin of the issues to the most current scientific theories, the author looks at what - if anything - we know about these mysterious marvels of human evolution.

Recommended for: humans, “humans”, and people everywhere.

Delusions of Gender

How Our Minds, Society, and Neurosexism Create Difference

“Men are from Mars and women are from Venus” - or so the old saying goes. In this book, author Cordelia Fine examines the evidence behind the old adage about the difference between genders, and digs into the scientific evidence that is often used to back up those claims. Instead of clear-cut biological differences, though, what comes to light it more related to the impact of society on the human mind.

Recommended for: men, women, and those who have yet to make up their minds.
